Always fascinated by helicopters, Bill couldn’t even say the word helicopter getting excited, or attentively staring at the sky anytime one flew overhead. His first helicopter flight in 1998 was on a medevac “ride along” during his paramedic training. Became a flight medic in 2001, just after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, working for Mobile Life under special contract with the New York State Police. This detail was designed to put a paramedic with state police during emergency flights. It was there where the helicopter addiction solidified. State Police pilots in the unit encouraged me to complete my flight training. Since receiving his private pilot license, Bill has delved deep into the world of commercial rotorcraft aviation, including the creation of his own flight school, Hudson Valley Helicopters INC.
